As the top says, we like to sail, travel and eat. Most of this blog is written with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek. Beware that I might get a bit salty with the language at times, but it's all in good fun.
And despite what you may read, we are a very happily married couple.because we can laugh at ourselves.
Laugh. Love. Eat. Sail. Enjoy.

Quick fixes that the OEM doesn't want you to see

The pin that props up the shaft on the Torqeedo is bent so it doesn't do its job, we really needed it for our cruising shallow waters.

However, it's amazing what will do in a pinch.

Blue can to the rescue!

Daydreaming-IMAX style

So, over lunch today, I get this e-mail from a co-worker showing the videos of cargo ships at sea and the containers falling/getting swept off the ship.

Because that's the type of crap you want to send somebody who sails on the ocean.

Anyhow--as I was backing down my driveway, I was pondering what it would be like to be cracking along at 7kts at night and hit something like a container...or a whale...or any other large detritus that could be floating around.

Then WHAM!  I back into something, and I had a simultaneous heart attack/wet my pants.

Stupid freaking trash men had come by over lunch and moved our trash can from its location in the grass to pretty much the middle of my driveway and while in la la land thinking about boats crashing into stuff, I hit it.

Needless to say, it did not help my already overactive imagination.

Do. Not. Want.
